Exposure

On my trawl through the Best Dressed of London Fashion Week I came across these beautiful, ethereal shots from backstage during New York's big fashion take over. I want these blown up and on canvas. Now.

Mmmmmm Muubaa

Quite possibly the perfect leather jacket from quite possibly the most perfect shop, Stanwells has appeared in my wardrobe. Feeling suitably lux-y.

When I'm feeling more suitably model-like though (ie a few days after the weekend which was essentially a chocolate and rosé-athon), I'll post some piccies of said A-MAZ-ING jacket but in the meantime check out Muubaa and positively drool over their lookbook...

Putting on the Ritts

Herb Ritts' work is undoubtedly one of the biggest influences for many an aspiring photographer. His iconic black and white shots have graced exhibition walls, coffee table tomes and the covers of Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair.
Much of his imagery is a celebration of the human form – almost odes to Greek marble statues, where the models are like replicas of gods residing at the Acropolis (minus Pope Pius IX's chopping off their cocks. NB. I never thought I'd type in "knocking off willies" into my Google search engine...)
Most of us will know his Supermodels shot but here are a few more that I thought were just yum, yum, YUM.

Terry's Mine

An oldie but seriously goodie has been recently reworked and shown at a gallery in London town named the Rook and Raven.
The brief was to take some of the works from one of the 20th century's most influential photographers, Terry O'Neill and reinterpreted by 'the image makers of today'.
Bad timing on my part is that the show is about to close. It finishes the end of this month so nip along to W1T 1HN ASAP.
Spotting these pieces by Pam Glew and James Dawe, gave me a perfect opportunity to revisit Terry's work. Amazingly most of the iconic images that I love have been clicked with Terry's index finger. You must check out his website, only to read the  'About' bit in his own words.

The Originals

One of my favourite images: Faye Dunaway the morning after she won her Oscar. Increible!

Blatant Sex Appeal

Kate Moss, Mango and Terry not-a-picture-if-tits-aren't-involved Richardson have combined to make a little reel of high street fashion naughtiness. They did an earlier film where Miss Moss was essentially flashing her knickers in a stunning red dress, so now this is take two. They've called it Spy Game so basically we're playing Peeping Toms – how very Richardson.

He seems to court controversy – in fact he doesn't just sail close to the wind, he steers into the eye of the storm – but he does have the knack of creating very raw, sensual images with more than a nod to the blue movie but not quite top shelf. Take a look (after the jump) at his shoot with Daria Webowy for Russian Vogue to get a bit of a taste.

Anyway, back to Moss 'n' Mango. The clothes are to die for – bravo – and of course Kate looks sensational.

Heads up, Mango Fairy Godmother, my wishlist is below...
